Week 6

InIn what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
My contents page is spread across the page with irregular text. The heading ‘Contents’ is turned at a 900 angle and ‘Features’ is set at an angle. The list is set out down the page with photos around the texts. This challenges the conventions of other college magazines because everything is normally ordered out on the page and the use of images and fonts makes the contents page more modern and attractive to its target audience.

2.How does your media product represent particular social groups?
My contents page doesn’t represent any social groups. It includes all college students who are interested in what’s happening in their college and all the news. My magazine contents page includes all the articles like ‘sports, fashion, events, revision guide & ect’. This includes every member of the college not any particular social group.

3. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
The college library would distribute my media product also it could be place at the front desk of the reception and the school website. This is because it’s a college magazine so there’s nowhere else it can be distributed and it’s better that it’s distributed in the college because its free also college students have quicker access to the magazine and this will help them keep up to date with everything that’s happening in college.

4. Who would be the audience for your media product?
The target audience for my magazine our any students who are in full time college education between the age of 16-18. This is because the magazine is based on what’s happening within the college and all the latest news on exams or anything new that’s going to happen.
